Icy Spicy (Matunga West)

Not Too Dicey

Icy Spicy is almost lost in the row of small mom-and-pop stores on Sitaladevi Temple Road, and only catches the eye of the one looking especially for a place to eat. Inside, an immaculately dressed English-speaking manager surprises you as you order your Triple Szechwan Rice. The food is quite palatable albeit slightly high on the spicy (being true to the name of the restaurant). What sets it apart though is the size of the portions – you would have to be extremely hungry or strongly opposed to wasting food to be able to finish your helping of rice. That said, the prices are slightly higher for a place of this scale, and it is perhaps the attempts at sophistication and creation of value for your money that leave you cheerful even after you have walked out of the restaurant.
