Ganga Vihar (Matunga West)

Just another restaurant

In terms of location, Ganga Vihar is perfect. You get off the Matunga Road flyover running perpendicular to the railway tracks, looks at a sign saying 'Greener Mumbai, Cleaner Mumbai' in English and Marathi, and walk right into Ganga Vihar. That is what explains the crowds thronging to the place, leading to seating arrangements made outside the restaurant premises (i.e. on the pedestrian crossing) as well. The food though is quite ordinary when it comes to taste, though it must be said that the masala dosa is clearly above average when it comes to size. Ganga Vihar is, well, just another restaurant - nothing specific to say about it, except perhaps that it provides a decent alternative to the more famous vegetarian joint, Shobha, further down the same road.
