Situated close to the bustling Peninsula Corporate Park, Shang Dynasty runs on its value meal packages which it offers as a power lunch to office goers. Go there on a weekend though, and you will find it completely deserted. The reason is not hard to guess. Order the Ambila Curry (supposedly the most exotic Thai dish available) and what greets you is coconut milk that is much more Malabarese than Thai. If you don't quite want to finish that dish, a regular Chinese preparation like Manchurian or Hunan is recommended, since one cannot go wrong there that easily. The portions over here are fairly generous, which also works as a disadvantage to some extent because it means more wastage of unpalatable food. In any case, this is a restaurant only to visit for its meal combos, since anything more experimental than Clear-Soup-Hakka-Noodles-Manchurian will not be worth the buck.
