Aromas (Powai)

Smells like Tea Spirit

The spirit of tea is of course best captured in the conversation that goes along with the cups. At Aromas, this is what is encouraged with spacey interiors, comfortable chairs, stewards who are usually not in a hurry, and prices that might make you cringe a little at the beginning but justify themselves once the food is on the plate. Of the teas, one particularly recommends the Banana Caramel Tea, which ought to be drunk without milk to enjoy the richly sweet flavour; and the cup smelt before its contents are drained just to get your olfactory system excited. If you are hungry and would like a bite to sustain your conversation over tea, the chocolate brownies here have just the right degree of hardness, not to forget the heavenly taste. The muffins too are quite soft and reasonably good on the taste buds. Unfortunately, the absence of cupcakes is a bit of a dampener, since it is advertised quite prominently on the menu card and promises to be quite a treat, whenever it is available. Much like the iconic Tea Centre in Colaba, Aromas too is a treat if you love your cuppa, and more importantly, your chitchat.
